Lowbrow art - Zombie ink by David Lozeau

I have to say I love the works of artist David Lozeau. Particularly this one here because A – it’s a bad ass zombie & B – it reminds me of Ralph Steadman’s artwork with the sketchy ink splatters at the bottom. Although don’t get me wrong if you check out David’s Website and view his portfolio you can see there is the comparison doesn’t run too deep as he exhibits a multitude of styles and subject matter with different macabre themes.

The zombie to the left caught my eye first, but the sad clown after the break reminded me of a shirt I love that has a dead  mime hung from  an invisible noose. The is even an entire section of the site dedicated to Day of The Dead Art that has some of the coolest all saints day skeletons I have ever seen.  Some of the originals pieces are available to buy for a decent chunk of change; but you can score some glossy 8 x10 pictures for the price of a few drinks. ($20)

Zombie Ice Cream by Rachel Emma Weaver

I have to admit there was about half a second when  found out this wasn’t edible that I was a hair bummed; but then I thought honestly when I find really cool edibles the last thing I want to do is actually eat them I’d Much Rather display them with the rest of my off color nic-nacs.

Rachel Emma Weaver has went to great lengths to bring you this permanent brain freeze all the way from Australia. The cone itself is a 100%  life size replica created by making a mold of a real cone. The entire piece is hand painted with awesome detail.

Hand painted young zombie girl with rose on a vintage vinyl record.

It’s been a few days since I’ve  had a dedicated zombie post but let me assure you it was worth the wait to see these hand painted zombie clocks from the mother & daughter art team comprising Off Her Rocker Art. Way up North in Palmer, Alaska they gave created a perfect mash-up of 3 of my favorite things original art, zombies, and vinyl records.

Keeping in theme of a few former posts you can even order custom zombie portraits to be hand painted on a record clock through their Etsy store. I thinks it’s about time to start  a collection of personalized zombie portraits to leave for my heirs. That is a collection that would be truly priceless.

This little girl on this zombie clock titled Sweetheart of Sigma Chi is so chilling it looks like she may have wilted that rose with her stone cold stare.

If you want to enjoy some more colorful original art or connect with the artists directly you can scope out the artists website Dandy Gelatin or visit  them on Facebook to become a fan to stay abreast their latest news.

Zombie Che Guevara

Undead & Red, The New Red Scare!

Everyone is worried about terrorists now days, but fact of the matter is terrorists blowing stuff up is nothing new. It’s only new to those of  us lucky enough to live in a place where it doesn’t happen everyday! I personally am not too worried about my house getting blown up in the middle of the night.

I think we all now that I am getting to the real hot button issue facing most democratic nations. The threat of undead communist revolutionaries sprawling the globe and infecting the masses. These are some of the most influential men in recent history and now they can simply chew on the ear (literally) of non believers for a few minutes and have them converted in anywhere from 1-24 hours. (If Hollywood has taught me anything)

Now if you are anything like me and want to welcome our new Undead Communist Overlords upon arrival & hopefully convince them you are already on their side you can get one of these limited edition prints from the 3D Monster Art Store to hang prominently above your mantel or in plain view of your entry way. It should stop those communist zombies DEAD in their tracks.

This Che Guevara Zombie Print is a limited edition of 50 don’t miss your chance to flatter the inevitable army of rotting communist corpses that will be knocking down your door the next time you hear the air raid sirens blaring.

If you have some more empty space on your walls Daniel Bru has some other great horror themed pop art prints too & since they are digital you can ask for any color combo you want to match the rest of your offbeat decor.

Zombie Rancid

If you thought the caricatures you saw the cartoonist drawing the park where cool you have to see what Rob Sacchetto can do to your face. His goal is to zombify the world one mug at a time. Using a photo of you or anyone else as a reference Rob will immortalize you into an undead abomination to be enjoyed by your heirs for years to come. I can see it now a seemingly endless regal  hall lined with zombified portraits of of all your families ancestors. Check out Rob’s Blog - Zombie Daily for new horror art daily or visitZombiePortraits.com to see how it’s done & how anyone you wish; yourself included, can be ushered into the realm of the undead for only $80.

The Video is a compilation of before & after zombie portraits.

Here’s a quick fix for all of you who haven’t found a cool piece of jewelry at your local thrift store since thrifting became hip again; Or just aren’t into the mass produced  {Insert Latest Trendy “Cult” Movie Here} necklace at Hot Topic. Which might look kinda cool which is why every hipster waiting in line to buy tickets at next weeks midnight screening of Plan 9 From Outer Space will be wearing one.

The Pendants made by ZombieHead are one of a kind creations so you can be sure you won’t be caught undead at the next Zombie March with the same necklace as one of the other flesh devouring attendees. Krystal Osborne has meticulously hand sculpted everyone of her Zombie heads with the detail that will thrill true fans of the macabre.  You can admire all of her most current creations on her Etsy Store but don’t hesitate if you love what you see because no two of these savage little ghouls are exactly alike.

While classic monsters will always be close to our hearts it’s bone-chillingly refreshing to see an artist like Undead Ed conjuring up original one of a kind horror creations. Check out his etsy shop to gawk at some more gory toys. It’s like someone buried all their old toys in the Pet Cemetery and they rose as undead freaks!  His shop says he & his shop have features in both Gorezone and Bizarre magazines March issues.  I haven’t seen them yet, but if you get a chance pick one up and check it out, after all if we don’t support the print magazines where will we find all those glossy photos of zombies & freaks to plaster our walls?
